Re-stamp Residency- Lost Passport
It is mandatory that all Business Partners approach GSO’s Department to complete their Residence Visa formalities in case of passport loss:
(If the passport is lost while traveling i.e. out of UAE, the applicant must cancel the current residency and issue a new residence permit after issuing a new passport. But if the passport is lost within the UAE, the visa can be re-stamped onto a new passport after obtaining a police Clearance Letter.)
Lost Passport- within UAE
Requirements
In order to re-stamp the Residence Visa onto a new passport, the following documents are required for submission at GSO’s Business Counter
- “Application for Replacement of Lost Items” duly filled and signed by authorized signatory.
- Original new passport.
- Original police Clearance Letter
- Company Declaration Letter (Lost Passport)
- One (1) photocopy of lost passport including visa page
- Three (3) color photographs with white background, size 4.3cm x 5.5cm
- Original ID Card
Lost Passport- Out of UAE
In order to re-stamp the Residence Visa onto a new passport, the following documents are required for submission at GSO’s Business Counter
- “Application for Employment/Student/Dependant Cancellation” form duly filled and signed by authorized signatory.
- "Application for Employment/Student/Dependant"* form duly filled and signed by authorized signatory (Can be submitted after Cancellation after Cancellation process completed)
- Original police Clearance Letter (must be attested in UAE Consulate and Foreign Affairs)
- Company Declaration Letter (Lost Passport)
- One (1) photocopy of lost passport including visa page
- Immigration Print Out
- Three (3) color photographs with white background, size 4.3cm x 5.5cm
- Original ID Card
Re-Stamp Residency- Renewed passport
Requirements
In order to transfer the Residence Visa from old passport to a new passport in case of passport renewal, the following documents are required for submission at GSO’s Business Counter
- “Application for Amendment Request” duly filled and signed by authorized signatory.
- Original new passport.
- Original old passport.
- Three (3) color photographs with white background, size 4.3cm x 5.5cm
- Original ID Card
Re-Stamp Residency- Nationality Change
Requirements
In order to transfer the Residence Visa from old passport to a new passport in case of Nationality Change, the following documents are required for submission at GSO’s Business Counter
- “Application for Amendment Request” duly filled and signed by authorized signatory.
- Original new passport.
- Original old passport.
- Three (3) color photographs with white background, size 4.3cm x 5.5cm
- Original ID Card
Important!
- In case of a non-sponsored Residence Visa re-stamping, the sponsored employee must sign the Immigration application form. The sponsored employee may approach GSO’s Business Counter to sign the Immigration application form after two (2) working days from documents submission.
- A Re-stamped Visa bears the same validity as the old Residence Visa.
